Pinch, punch, first of the month.
Today marks the first day of autumn. The season when the leaves go from green to warm oranges and yellows, when just a handful of sunny days are left, when you can wear your favourite jacket, and when you can get away with drinking hot chocolate everyday (well, almost everyday).
Its also the season for changing out the waterproof mascara and bronzer in your makeup bag, to warm dark tones of eyeshadows and lipsticks in every dark shade of red and purple.
This is my "First Day of Autumn" video.
Grab a cup of tea, and enjoy!

This is one of the looks I did yesterday, the remake of what I had done the day before. You never really get to do stuff like this as a makeup artist right out of school. But no one can stop me from doing it on myself.
I guess weird is an understatement for this look, but I am just so in love with it.

As of late, Im feeling very inspired, and motivated to keep things weird. So today, my face had to go through 4 different makeup looks. One of them included a lot of gloss, that went into my eyes, so my face is not feeling too fresh atm. But I seriously had so much fun doing some completely different makeup looks back to back.
I started by redoing the makeup I did yesterday for a photoshoot, just a bit darker and weirder. Then I took some gloss and gold pigment, mixed it all up, and smeared it all over my eyes, and lips. Which luckily turned out great. Like, I looooved it. But then it started running, and clouding up my contacts, so I had to take it of. But I still felt the creativity bubbling, so I decided to film a video, which will be up September 1st. (autumn looks are my favourite, hint hint). And then I threw some glitter all over that shit. Didnt look as cool as I had hoped, so no pics of that. oops.

Yesterday my classmates and I graduated from Art Complexion Makeup School. I am so proud to not only be graduating, but also becoming a leagally certified makeup artist. Art Complexion being one of the few schools in scandinavia offering that kind of education.
This year has been a rollercoaster of emotions and challenges. A lot of trial and error, and mostly learning a lot about not only makeup, but also my self as a person. I want to thank all of my teachers for sharing their knowledge with us, and pushing us forward to do and be our best at all times.
Why becoming a leagally certified makeup artist is so important to me is because it helps this line of work in to keep its integrity. There are so many so-called 'makeup artists' out there that muddle the reputation of us and ruin the business, also money wise, accepting lesser pay than what a proffesional would. But im not going to go to far into that whole thing.
And I also want to thank my classmates for being so amazing, and I am so happy that I got to get to know all of you!
But now I am finally done and its time to start bulding my career. I am so excited, and I cant wait to be sharing my experiences with you!

It's been a week already and we're just starting to get to know the city well enough to walk around without getting completely lost without a map. We've spent what feels like half of our stay on the subway, and seen a lot of talented people preforming there.
After a week of rain and grey clouds, the sun has finally decided to make an appearance, which has made the city feel like a completely new place. So we spent hours chilling in the sun in Central Park yesterday, before we went to check out Times Square.

We have finally arrived in New York! We live in Jersey city on the 25th floor with a view over the river and the skyline of lower Manhattan.
The venue that the band will be playing at most of the time is all the way over in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. So Tatjana and I spent the morning trying to understand the New York subway system.
We also stopped by the One World Trade Center and looked at the amazing pools.
Right now we're watching the band practice, and then we're going to lunch later.
Ill try to keep you updated during this trip, and I'm also vlogging while I'm here, so there will be a video up when I get home!

I have not forgotten about this blog or my youtube, I swear! I see that I have a few people checking in everyday, and I want to say I appreciate that very very much! Lately a lot of things have been happening in my life, and the school year is coming to an end.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to stavanger with Tatjana Weddegjerde to be her assistent for a makeup job for a band/orchestra. Going there without knowing anything about who this band was and what kind of music they played, I went with her thinking it was a "normal" classical music type of band. 1B1 turned out to be the coolest band, that play the most interesting and advanced music I've ever heard live! And now Im going to New York with them in just a week!
Im so lucky to have this as my first real payed job as a makeup artist, to be working with so many amazing people, and get to travel with them! Its such an incredible opportunity.
And when I get home from NYC, all of my final exams start! So it might be a little quiet from me a bit longer, just until Im done with all of the fotoshoots and exams. But when im done with all of that, I have a lot of good stuff coming, and maybe a little something before that as well!
I hope all your finals and projects and papers go well, talk to you soon!

It took a while, but here is my NYX haul from the opening at Douglas in Oslo. Im not going to write too much about every product, but I'll add swatches of the products and a little comment about what I think about it. All of the products are linked in the title of the product.
I havent got to try out this too much yet, but the colors seem decent and the formulation of the powder is very soft and highly pigmented. I think you need to be careful when using this to avoid it becoming blotchy. But being aware of that and using very little product at the time and a very soft brush will probably keep you in the safe zone. Absolutely worth the money.
Under eye concealers for dark circles with a brown undertone. These are orange/salmon colored concealers which are what you use to cover brown pigmentation in the skin. They are very creamy and easily blendable. Does crease under the eye if you dont use powder. But Im very impressed of the cover and how creamy they are.
Its not as smooth as I would want it to be, but it has a very good staying power. Though not really sure what I think about it yet. I originally wanted to get a liquid white one but they were sold out.
Super nice and creamy on the lips. Its not wet but not dry either. Its sort of sticky like a normal matte lipstick. But I use NYXs HD powder to set it, and then it lasts all day. Unless I eat something greasy. Highly pigmented, feels nice on the lips, awesome color.
This blush is super soft and nice, but a bit too pigmented for my taste. I like to be able to really build it up to the color I want. But with this one its kind of hard because it gives of so much color at once, that you have to be super careful and tap out almost all of the product from your brush before you place it on your cheek. But the color is so so so nice, both on pale and tanned skin.
Amaaaaaxing highlighters. I love creamy/liquid highlighters because it makes it so easy to choose how concentrated you want it. You can blend it into your foundation in varying amounts to get a nice glow, or you can tap it on with your finger to just get the touch of highlight you want where you want it. The top of the three is the product straight from the bottle, and then blended a little bit, then just swiped the rest from what was on my finger on the last. So that just shows how little that is needed of this product.
Im in love with this primer. It goes on soooo smoothly, since it has a mousse like consistency. And it gives your face a nice subtle blur effect. It doesnt curdle like other silicone primers. And it helps my makeup stay on longer. Also makes my skin look nicer and nicer throughout the day.
(You can sort of see the blur effect on the second picture, if you compare it to the skin on the first picture).
This is a very very very wet liquid liner. As you can see, it seeps into the lines of my underarm which honestly are so fine that its almost amazing that it even finds them... BUUT if you are careful to wipe of a lot of product and use it sparingly, its a good liquid liner. Though it did make my eyes water, I think. Its either that or the liner I had on my waterline/eyeshadow dust stuck in my tear canal.
Do you like this kind of informational haul blogpost? Tell me in the comments!
